Doi Chang is located in Wawee Subdistrict, Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province. Coffee is grown at roughly 1,000–1,700 metres above sea level, and Arabica has been cultivated there since around 1969.

Why altitude matters

Cooler highland temperatures slow the ripening of coffee cherries, which generally gives the beans more time to develop flavour. That is why Arabica is typically grown at altitude in the tropics.
